Sol De Janeiro Hair & Body Perfume Mist, Review

Sol De Janeiro Brazilian Crush Perfume Mist Review

once cheirosa, always cheirosa

Foreword

It is time to stop gatekeeping my favorite perfume mists. In today's post, you might find everything you wanted to know about Brazil's hottest fragrances.

About the Product

Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Crush Perfume Mists (38 USD; Made in USA) - is a collection of body and hair fragrances.

Packaging: the design has recently changed, something you might notice in my photos as I have both old and new bottles. Aside from that, you should be getting the same scent, just in an updated "outfit". Every bottle has a pump and is made of see-through plastic, with a matching color to one of the body creams. Scents go by numbers, which is another way to match your perfume mist to a favorite Sol de Janeiro body cream. Mists are available in two sizes 90 ml/ 3 fl oz (24 USD) and 240 ml/ 8.1 fl oz.

Recyclable ♻️

Formula: on average all scents have three ingredients, which include Alcohol, Water, and Perfume.

Vegan🌱 Cruelty-free🐇

Scents: currently there are six scents available, all part of the permanent collection, most with matching body creams. Now and again, Sol de Janeiro will launch limited edition fragrances, so it is worth keeping an eye on the brand's socials to stay up to date. In a nutshell, most scents are a mix of sweet, warm gourmand and floral notes.

Below is a mini scent guide

  • Cheirosa 62 (aka Bum Bum) - notes of Salted Caramel, Pistachio, Vanilla

  • Cheirosa 40 (aka Bom Dia) - notes of Black Amber Plum, Vanilla Woods, Jasmine Blooms

  • Cheirosa 59 (aka Delicia Drench) - notes of Sugared Violet, Vanilla Orchid, Sandalwood

  • Cheirosa 68 (aka Beija Flor) - notes of Brazilian Jasmine, Pink Dragonfruit, Sheer Vanilla

  • Cheirosa 71 - notes of Caramelized Vanilla, Toasted Macadamia Nut, Tonka Bean

  • Cheirosa 87 (aka Rio Radiance) - notes of Solar Tuberose, Leite de Coco, Creamy Vanilla

Sol De Janeiro Fragrance Mist Review

Application: now, since these are fragrance mists, they are ideal for everyday wear. Especially for simple activities, outdoors, and working out. The latter might depend on the type of workout you do. I wear mine to yoga and Pilates. So far, I have gotten multiple compliments on how good I smell, and thankfully these Sol de Janeiro are not sickly sweet or strong to the point where my fragrance choices bother other people in the room. The brand suggests that all scents can be sprayed on clothes, hair, and even lingerie.

Want a stronger impression?

Layer your favorite Perfume Mist on top of a matching Sol de Janeiro body cream. Or mix two different scents.

Wear: some scents last longer than others. Since the composition is simple, you typically get a whiff of all notes from the get-go. The dry-down is more of a "cool-down". I would say on me these Perfume Mists last for 3-5 hours. You might need to reapply your scent a few times a day if you want to extend the wear.

Verdict

Perfume is very personal. However, if you are into deliciously sweet gourmand scents, that remind you of sunny days and romantic island getaways, you will adore the Sol de Janeiro collection of perfume mists. They are flirty, alluring, and most of all easy. Whether I am running errands, having a day date or going to the gym, I reach out for one of my favorite Perfume Mists without any hesitation. Some scents might be best saved for colder seasons, but on average you can wear most of them well throughout the year. As far as sexy and girly fragrances go, you just can't go wrong with the Cheirosa collection. A+
