Rabanne Eyephoria Handbag Eyeshadow Palette Review

meet your new handbag BFF

Foreword

As we continue exploring the world of Rabanne makeup, the time has come to discuss the brand's alluring new eyeshadow quads. Are they just as good as their award-winning siblings Eyephoria Mini Palettes (reviewed here)? Let's find out together.

About the Product

Rabanne Eyephoria Handbag Palette (38 USD; Made in Italy) - is an eyeshadow quad palette that promises ultimate pigmentation, ease of use, and up to 10 hours of wear.

Packaging: true to Rabanne roots, we look at a highly reflective, squoval quad containing 2.6 g/ 0.09 oz worth of product. The compact is made of high-quality plastic and has a mirror. Each Eyephoria Handbag Palette comes in an individually color-coded box, matching the shades and finishes of the eyeshadows in a quad. Size-wise, it is portable and travel-friendly.

Recyclable ♻️

Formula: similar to the Eyephoria Mini Palette (discussed here), you look at a high concentration of Mica (a mineral used for its pearly, shimmering quality), Squalene (moisture), Dimethicone (silicone), and various emollients and other binding ingredients that give these shadows their creamy consistency and reflective finish. Naturally, the exact ingredient list will vary from color to color (finish to finish).

Palette: Feel My Vibe

Finishes: currently, there are four finishes available in the Eyephoria Handbag Palette line. We look at mattes, metallics, foiled shadows, and glosses (aka clear or tinted cream shadows). The shade description, however, does not always match the actual finish. For example, some colors are labeled as metallic; instead, they are pressed glitters with a colored base.

Texture: smooth and creamy across the board.

Shades: the Eyephoria Handbag Palette is available in four color stories. The colors in each palette complement each other well and can be used as toppers, layered together, or individually.

The palette shown in this post is called Feel My Vibe and is swatched below.

Palette: Feel My Vibe

Application: whether you choose to use your fingertips (works best with sparkly and glittery shades) or brushes (best with mattes), you will get an equally beautiful result with your palette.

The pressed glitter shades in the Eyephoria Handbag Palette adhere well to the eyelid without an eye base or glitter glue. The same goes for mattes, which practically blend themselves out. For the ultimate no-creasing experience, I would recommend using a primer.

Other than that, the colors blend well into each other. The opacity level is more subdued compared to brands like Natasha Denona or Pat McGrath. However, with the right layering technique (for example packing the color on top of a cream or liquid color base), you can achieve a bold, statement look.

Wear: on its own, the Eyephoria Handbag Palette wears for 6-7 hours. Naturally, you will get much better results with a primer, which is going to extend the longevity of your eye look. When the shadows begin to fade, they do so in a sophisticated and graceful manner. There is no fallout or patchiness, however, slight creasing can occur if you don't use a primer (especially with oilier eyelids).

Rabanne Eyephoria Handbag Palette Review

Verdict

I admire the fashion-forward, understated, yet playful approach of Rabanne makeup. These textures feel rich and are well-formulated. The color stories presented to us are both modern and cool. Whether you love soft glam or bold editorial looks, you will certainly find something up your makeup alley in this collection. The Eyephoria Handbag Palette is a perfect everyday or on-the-go companion. The colors in every palette tell a story and can be used in a plethora of ways. Even better mixed with the brand's Eyephoria Mini Palette. I am pleasantly surprised by this line and look forward to their future creations. For now, I give this collection an A.
