Rabanne Eyephoria Famous Mascara Review

designer lashes

Foreword

The time has come to discuss yet another alluring launch by Rabanne. We already chatted about the brand's dazzling eyeshadows (more about them here) and, today, we will look at the 5-in-1 mascara. It promises many wonderful things and this review will reveal if it is true.

About the Product

Rabanne Eyephoria Famous Mascara (25 USD; Made in Italy) - is described as a pitch-black mascara that adds volume, definition, length, and curve.

Packaging: true to Rabanne roots, you look at sleek packaging with a black-to-metal ombré effect. The tube itself is made of plastic. The hourglass-shaped brush has soft bristles that are not spiky.

Recyclable ♻️

Formula: one thing about Rabanne is that the brand strives to opt for clean and safe formulations. The Eyephoria Famous Mascara is 94% made of natural ingredients. This is a water-based mascara, rich in Carnauba Wax (hypoallergenic thickener), Castor Seed Oil (nourishes lashes), Glycerin (humectant), Rhus Verniciflua Peel Wax (aka Berry Wax used for soft consistency), and Propanediol (moisturizing emollient) to name a few.

Vegan 🌱 Cruelty-free🐇

Texture: the Eyephoria Famous Mascara has a fine, creamy consistency.

Scent: none.

Application: initially, you might not see a great effect on your lashes. From my experience, it was after two or three uses when the brush finally coated my lashes well enough, that I could see added volume and a bit of length.

My lashes are long and semi-lifted, however, they lack a bit in the volume department. Compared to my number one Diorshow Pump 'N' Volume Mascara (reviewed here), the Eyephoria Famous Mascara appears more subdued and soft on my eyes. It intensifies the black color of my lashes and adds definition, but is not dramatic per se. Unlike with Dior, where one coat is enough, here I have to go for at least two coats to see some added volume. More often than not, I have to brush through lashes with a comb to unglue them. This is not a big deal, but it consumes more time.

Wear: the Eyephoria Famous Mascara wears comfortably well throughout the day. It does not crumble, flake, smudge, burn, or feel dry. It has survived vigorous workout routines, which for a non-waterproof formula is pretty impressive. I do recommend removing it with an oil-based cleanser. The Caudalie Makeup Removing Cleansing Oil does a great job at that, without blurring the vision.

who is going to like it

As I always say, mascara is quite personal. If you are gifted in the lash department and have fluttery lashes to begin with, the Eyephoria Famous Mascara will define them beautifully as well as coat them in nice black color. If you are all about the volume, there might be better options out there. As far as lifting is concerned, the Eyephoria Famous Mascara does not weigh your lashes down, but it also does not add a crazy lift or length. If you want your lashes to appear extremely natural and pretty, this might be your go-to. A great option for sensitive eyes.

Rabanne Eyephoria Famous Mascara Review

Verdict

Rabanne continues to come up with beautifully formulated products. Naturally, reviewing mascara is no easy task as it is probably the most subjective piece of makeup one can talk about. Having said that, I neither adore nor dislike the Eyephoria Famous Mascara. I think it is a lovely product that will find its fan base (think "clean girl" makeup). It wears quite comfortably and adds a nice flirtatious touch to the eye. However, ideally, I would want more volume in a mascara. There is always room for growth and perhaps Rabanne will launch an extreme-volume mascara next that I will enjoy more. As for now, I give this creation a B-.
