how many treasures can one cavern hold
Foreword
As we continue rediscovering iconic gems of modern makeup, I figured it was time to chat about the Liquid Lurex Eyeshadow by the one-and-only Lisa Eldridge. In a previous post, we discussed the brand's soft matte Liquid Silk Eyeshadow (reviewed here), and today we will focus on its dazzling sister.

About the Product
Lisa Eldridge Liquid Lurex Eyeshadow (30 USD; Made in Italy) - is a collection of liquid eyeshadows in metallic and sparkly finishes. The formula is described as long-lasting, pigmented, and lightweight.
Packaging: identical design to the Liquid Silk Eyeshadow; the only difference is the tube, where one is mattified and the other is clear. Aside from that, you look at the same chic and practical packaging. A recognizable golden cap with an engraved logo and a flattened applicator that picks up a generous amount of eyeshadow. In total, you get 2.8 ml/ 0.09 fl oz worth of product. Portable, travel-friendly.
Recyclable ♻️
Shade: Zora
Formula: unlike the Liquid Silk Eyeshadow, this formulation is water-based and rich in Synthetic Fluorphlogopite (sparkle), Squalene (moisture), Butylene Glycol (hydration, protective barrier), and various other ingredients. You get a smaller amount of Tocopherol (Vitamin E) and Actinidia Polygama Fruit Extract, which is known for its antioxidant properties. Naturally, the exact ingredient list will vary from shade to shade.
Vegan🌱 Cruelty-free🐇
Scent: none.
Finish: metallic, shimmery, or sparkling finish. These almost look wet on the eyelids.
Texture: saturated, smooth consistency that feels a touch cooling upon application. The Liquid Lurex Eyeshadow is quite creamy and opaque in coverage.
Shades: currently available in ten alluring shades. The ones you see here are Bianca (mauve pink) and Zora (cool chocolate). Please see them swatched below (freshly applied vs. blended out).
Shades (L-R): Zora, Bianca
Application: the Liquid Lurex Eyeshadow is quite an intuitive product. You can create a plethora of looks with this formula. I prefer to apply it with my fingertips, however, brushes work great too. Ideally, those with synthetic bristles, as they are best for cream or liquid products.
Now, one unique feature of this formula is that if you layer it sheer and blend it out with your fingertips, you will reveal the most gorgeous sparkle. The finish goes from metallic to sparkly in a matter of seconds. Alternatively, layer it a bit thicker, and you will get a gorgeous one-and-done shadow. Once the Liquid Lurex Eyeshadow sets it does not budge. The formula plays well with other powder, cream, or liquid eye products.
Wear: there is no fallout or crumbling of an eyeshadow throughout the day. The formula is indeed very long-lasting, I would say it wears at least 8-10 hours. This does not happen often, but the Liquid Lurex Eyeshadow might crease slightly on oilier eyelids. In this case, you can layer an additional clear eye primer underneath it. Other than that, it feels weightless on the skin and survives humidity and workouts.
Verdict
Makeup enthusiasts, professionals, and beginners will all enjoy the enthralling sparkle of the Liquid Lurex Eyeshadow. Lisa has redefined a traditional liquid shadow, practically melting little galaxies into none other but an eyeshadow perfection. This formula and shade selection are modern, alluring, and simply gorgeous. The sparkle is soft and sophisticated. I would love to see more colors in this finish, particularly anything gemstone-related. A sapphire blue, emerald green, ruby red. Another excellent creation by Lisa Eldridge that deserves an A+.
