About the Product
Lisa Eldridge Fawn Eyeshadow Palette (62 USD; Made in Italy) - is a six-pan eyeshadow palette in neutral matte and sparkly shades inspired by the golden age of New York City and the Velvet Fawn True Velvet Lip Color Lipstick, which I am wearing in the photo above. The palette promises to be highly pigmented, long-wearing, and versatile.
Packaging: a petite, gold case made of part metal, part plastic. The compact has a high-quality mirror and magnetic closure. Every Lisa Eldridge palette is customizable, so you can move the eyeshadow pans around as you please. You can also purchase refills and enjoy the case for many years to come, which is a great environmentally-friendly initiative. Each palette is 5.7 g/0.2 oz and the refill is 1g/ 0.04 oz, a standard amount you would get from other brands in the same price range. This design is great for on-the-go or travels.

Formula: every finish has a different formula. On average shadows in the Fawn Eyeshadow Palette are high in Mica (a mineral used for its pearly, shimmering quality), Dimethicones (silicone), Hydroxyhydrocinnamate (antioxidant), and Silica (absorbent, thickener). You also get a bit of Tocopherol (Vitamin E).
Cruelty-free🐇
Finishes: in the Fawn Eyeshadow Palette you look at five finishes, which include Seamless Matte, Luminous, Velvet, Satin Duo, and Lustre. The latter resembles a "magnetic" shadow formulation, typically found in Italian-made formulations. It is both opaque and sheeny. Luminous is the sparkliest finish; it reminds me of a high-shine, pressed glitter. Satin Duo (soft duochrome) is also sparkly but a lot more subdued compared to Luminous. Seamless Matte is quite soft to the touch and close in feel to Velvet.
Texture: finely milled and uber creamy.
The only downside of the Fawn Eyeshadow Palette is that some finishes are so soft that, with frequent use, they form a hard pan, which makes it difficult to pick up the product. Now, there are ways to go about it. For example, you can gently scrape off and repress the top layer or use soft tape to lift the hardened part.
Fawn Eyeshadow Palette (L-R): Dorian, Debutante, Upper West Side, White Tie, Supernaturally, Burnt Clove.
Application: you are a makeup artist here, so feel free to use brushes or fingertips. Shadows in the Fawn Eyeshadow Palette apply with ease and blend themselves out like magic. They never accentuate skin texture. Both Velvets and Seamless Mattes appear relatively sheer initially, however, they can be built up easily. It is almost impossible to go overboard or pick up too much product with this formula. Generally, I must note that the Lisa Eldridge shadows fuse beautifully. No fall-out or kick-up.
Wear: on average the shadows from the Fawn Eyeshadow Palette wear well for up to 6-7 hours before I notice any fading, which happens in a very graceful fashion. Glittery shades stay intact without glitter glue. I do recommend using a primer or a colored base though, especially if your eyelids get oily during the day. The brand's newly released Liquid Silk Eyeshadows would work fabulously.
Verdict
If you are a fan of sophisticated neutrals, the Fawn Eyeshadow Palette might tickle your fancy. These shades are perfect for everyday wear, especially soft contouring. The tones are universally flattering and intuitive. Whether it is a one-shadow look, sparkle with a kitten flick, or a full-blown smokey eye with a touch of duo-chrome - you will have it with this palette. A great option for beginners, professionals, and beauties of a particular age. You won't have to worry about these shadows not blending well or looking chalky. And any reference to New York's Brownstone will always have my heart. A beautiful release from Lisa, which deserves an A.
