Kosas Blush Is Life Baked Dimensional + Brightening Blush (29 USD; Made in Italy) - is described as a clean, silky smooth powder blush infused with skin-loving ingredients.
Packaging: the blush comes in a see-through, blueish-purple plastic compact. Since most baked formulations are domed-shaped, the cap is slightly elevated. Even though the size of the Blush Is Life might seem bulky, I still think it is travel-friendly and portable. Just be careful not to drop it, as these powders crack easily. All that aside, you get 4.5 g/ 0.16 oz of product per compact.

Formula: Kosas highlight the fact that this blush is not only pretty, but it also contains some skin-friendly ingredients. Hyaluronic Acid and Squalane are the main stars here, both adding to comfortable and hydrating wear. You also get Mica (a mineral that adds sparkle and lustre), Jojoba Esters (emollient), Kaolin (absorbs excess oils), and Silica (soft-focus texturizer) to name a few.

Texture: the Blush Is Life is a baked blush, which means that initially, it had a liquid form, which was then slow-baked for a certain amount of time to turn it into a powder. The meticulous process creates a silky-smooth texture with a finely milled consistency. This is why every baked product (eyeshadow, blush, bronzer, or highlighter) has a unique pattern. Italy is the motherland of the best-baked makeup manufacturers, so rest assured you are getting crème de la crème here.

Shades: currently available in eight shades. The one featured in this post is called Dreamland (rosy bronze). The pigmentation is moderate. You can wear your blush sheer or layer it for higher opacity.
Finish: luminous, soft-focus finish (neither glittery nor shimmery). Even though there is a certain amount of glow to the Blush Is Life, it does not accentuate dryness, skin texture, or pores. The radiance you get with this formula is flattering yet subdued.
Swatched: shade Dreamland (blended vs freshly applied)
Application: naturally, brushes with long, soft, dense bristles will be the best for the application of your favorite Blush Is Life. Add as little or as much product as you want, the result will be beautiful either way. The blendability is excellent. Even on bare, moisturized skin it still blends like a dream. Neither patchy nor drying.
This formulation plays well with other products. Pair it with a baked bronzer and highlighter for an ultimate, soft-focus, and glowing effect.
Wear: personally, I find that most baked blushes look better as the day goes by. They stay in place and might even appear dewier after a while. The Blush Is Life lasts for up to 6-8 hours on me (I have dry skin) before I notice any fading. It survives vigorous workouts, so I'd say it is gym-approved too.
Verdict
Blush, blush, blush. The past couple of years have been all about that doll-like, flirtatious flush on the cheeks and I am so here for it. Although mostly the hype was about cream or liquid formulations, we have seen plenty of eye-catching powder blush launches too. One of them is the Blush Is Life by Kosas. I had a suspicion it would be a beautiful product and I am here to say that yes. It does live up to its claims and it is a gorgeous choice for those of you, who love a radiant, baked blush. The shades are flattering and wearable. The formula is user-friendly and intuitive. Looks great in person and photos. Overall, an A+ product worth checking out.
