Dior Addict Lip Glow Balm, Review

Dior Addict Lip Glow Balm Review

for kissable, pouty lips

Foreword

Lip balms have been all the rage this year. Everyone tried to chime in, including Dior. The brand expanded its iconic Lip Glow range by adding new juicy colors. If these luxurious lip balms have been on your radar and you want to know whether or not they are worth your investment, then this post is for you.

Curious? Then please keep on scrolling

About the Product

Dior Addict Lip Glow Balm (40 USD; Made in France) - is described as a 97% natural-origin, hydrating, and plumping lip balm that adjusts itself to enhance your natural lip color.

Packaging: true to Dior signature style, you look at a chic see-through pink case. Every cap has a color-matching sticker, so even if you own a few of these, it will be easy to distinguish one shade from another. In total, you get 3.2 g/ 0.11 oz worth of product. These lip balms are portable and travel-friendly. However, they will melt if you leave them in a hot place.

Formula: according to the brand, the Lip Glow Balm is 97% natural.

😊 PROS

The ingredients are dominated by lip-loving Sunflower Seed Oil (hydration), Hydrogenated Castor Oil (shine), Jojoba Esters (moisture barrier), Candelilla Wax (natural binder, hydration), Shea Butter (nourishment). Towards the bottom of the list, you get Rice Bran Wax (shine), Sweet Cherry Seed Oil (protection, hydration), and Tocopherol (Vitamin E, antioxidant).

☹️ CONS

This is a fragranced product. I have never experienced any issues with it (but I still thought to bring this to your awareness).

Shade 063 Pink Lilac

Texture: although not melty, the Lip Glow Balm feels smooth and glides on easily. Some new shades, like Pink Lilac, are slightly dense and less buttery compared to the rest (so you might need a few more coats if you want a shinier finish).

Scent: sweet mint meets vanilla. Although I steer clear from the mint-scented lip products, the Lip Glow Balm is the only formula that feels and smells nice. The scent is mild and disappears relatively fast.

Shades: at the moment there are 17 shades available, including a fully transparent one.

Shades swatched (L-R):

(1) 04 Coral, 01 Pink;

(2) 06 Berry, 063 Pink Lilac

Application: wear it alone or paired with your favorite lip pencil, lipstick, or gloss. The Lip Glow Balm is described as a lip-plumping product, however, I would not say it is. I do not feel the tingling or temporary increase in the size of my lips per se. Some shades run sheerer than others and need more layers to add a hint of color. On average, the darker/warmer the shade, the punchier it will look on the lips.

Finish: hydrated and moisturized lips; satin finish with a reflective sheen.

Wear: the Lip Glow Balm is very hydrating. It almost hugs your lips and gives them a comfortable feeling that lasts. As the name suggests, it makes your lips glow (without ever feeling sticky, gritty, or gloppy). Even when the balm wears off, my lips still feel nourished. However, this is still a sheer lip balm, so you will need to reapply it often (every 2-3 hours).

Verdict

If you were on the hunt for a luxurious lip balm, the Lip Glow Balm could be the one for you. This Dior creation might not be something you need, but as far as designer lip products go, this one is a keeper. Not only does it look good, but it also nourishes your lips and coats them with a beautiful glowing tint. In my eyes, this formula is lovely and worth the hype. So if you want to treat yourself or your loved ones, look this way. Plus certain shades here are perfect for creating a gradient, summery popsicle lip. I have been loving mine with a bit of lip contour as well. This formula makes your lips pouty and kissable. An A from me.
