the grape romance
Foreword
Skincare is a passion project for many of us. This is why I was very excited when Caudalie released their advanced formula of The Rich Cream. It sounds like a match made in heaven for people with drier skin types, and in today's post we will see whether or not it is true.

About the Product
You might remember us chatting about the Premier Cru line a little while ago, however, in case you are new to this space (hi and welcome!) you can read the original post here.
Caudalie Premier Cru The Rich Cream (129/109 USD; Made in France) - is the brand's premium line of skincare dedicated to addressing signs of aging and dehydration. The new product is a rich moisturizer that promises to strengthen the skin barrier, reduce the look of wrinkles, as well as help with redness and dryness.
Packaging: weighted glass jar with a refillable capsule that can be easily replaced (and purchased separately). You get 50 ml/ 1.6 fl oz worth of product. While it might not be the most travel-friendly design due to its weight and size, the brand gets bonus points for sustainability as everything here is fully recycled/recyclable.
Formula: as we have touched upon in the original review here, the Premier Cru line was created in collaboration with Harvard University and used a patented technology called TET8™. These formulations were developed to work on eight signs of aging including deep wrinkles, fine lines, firmness, volume, elasticity, age spots, nutrition, and radiance.
The Rich Cream is essentially a water-based formulation, rich in Glycerin (hydration), Grape Seed Oil, and Shea Butter (skin barrier protection). Other key ingredients are various types of Grape Seed (antioxidants), Hydrogenated Olive Oil (restorative), Ceramides (nourishing), and more. Hyaluronic Acid is listed towards the end of the list, which means its content is lower than that of earlier-mentioned ingredients.
Vegan🌱 Cruelty-free🐇
Texture: beautiful, buttery cream texture that is rich yet not on the thick side. Little goes a long way, so I would recommend using this formula sparingly.
Scent: a faint, slightly noticeable fragrance that does not linger.
Application: ideally, you should be using The Rich Cream twice a day, for your AM and PM routine. Personally speaking, I save this moisturizer for night-time, as I find that it works best on me overnight (alone or together with actives such as Retinol or Vitamin C for example).
I use about a cent-sized amount for both my face and neck, as the last step in my skincare routine.
initial results
This formula absorbs beautifully, leaving skin feeling instantly hydrated and nourished. No greasiness or stickiness that is often associated with rich creams. It works particularly well on freshly exfoliated or slightly sensitized skin, giving it a calming and soothing effect.
long-term use
Over time, the skin barrier becomes stronger, with little to no breakouts or irritation in sight. Even on troubled (or hormonal) days, breakouts and redness reduce and heal faster. I have noticed that my skin has become more plump and radiant with The Rich Cream. Dry patches or texture practically disappeared. I have yet to report back regarding some of the fine lines I have on my forehead, but overall I have had a pleasant experience with this product so far. No irritation, no clogged pores.
Verdict
If you have dry skin or live in a dry climate, this product could be a perfect solution to skin dehydration, tightness, and lack of moisture. The Rich Cream is like a glass of cooled coconut water for your skin - it instantly refreshes, soothes, and hydrates even the most parched of us. This is one of those products that I look forward to using every night. Because I know my skin will glow with radiance the morning after. Caudalie gave those of us with dry skin a best friend in a jar here, for which I am so grateful. This formulation will work exceptionally well for beauties that started to invest in preventative skincare and want to give their skin some extra love. Naturally, if you have oily or combination skin, or perhaps you want to spend less yet still get great results from your cream, I would suggest opting for Resveratrol Lift instead (which is another amazing creation of the brand). All in all, I am in love with this release and give it an A.
